The twenty-fourth Innovative "Smart City" Center in Serbia has been opened in Bajina Basta. The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Miroslav Trajanovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Jovan Milic, Special Advisor to Minister Begovic, and Vesna Djuric, the Mayor of Bajina Basta.

"Today is a significant day for the municipality of Bajina Basta, as the Innovative Smart City Center has been opened with the idea of supporting and developing innovative activities in the municipality and the surrounding area. The innovative ecosystem of Serbia has demonstrated its vitality in supporting not only central Serbian locations but also covering the so-called 'last mile' zone, which is often neglected", stated Prof. Dr. Trajanovic.
The Mayor of Bajina Basta, Vesna Djuric, emphasized the importance of opening this center. "Our city will significantly progress with the opening of this center, creating new employment opportunities for our young talents. The plan is to have six young innovators working within this center, and we are especially pleased that the ministry plans to invest additional funds in the training of center employees," said Djuric.
Bajina Basta is the twenty-fourth local community with an Innovative Smart City Center. The center is located in the premises of a former abandoned house in Viseshava, equipped with modern facilities, providing users with all the necessary technical and technological support, including state-of-the-art equipment and server room.
