Adopted Ethical guidelines for safe and reliable use of AI

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Conclusion on Ethical guidelines for the development, application, and use of reliable and responsible artificial intelligence, with the goal of introducing a preventive mechanism that will enable the responsible development of this type of intelligence, as well as methods of verification - that systems based on machine learning are in accordance with the highest ethical and safety standards.

Ethics and safety in the development of artificial intelligence must first be ensured in terms of personal data protection, discrimination protection during machine learning applications, and the establishment of responsible artificial intelligence development in accordance with international ethical principles.

Artificial intelligence cannot be viewed as a phenomenon at the regional level, but rather in the context of a rapidly changing and developing world, and represents the synergy of economy and science in order to adequately respond to new and unknown challenges. The guidelines, which were developed in accordance with international standards by a working group of experts from the private, academic, and non-governmental sectors, are not legally binding.
