Opportunities for Applying Artificial Intelligence in Tourism

The conference was formally opened by Dr. Nenad Ivanishević, the provincial secretary for economy and tourism, emphasizing the importance of innovation and technology in the tourism sector. He highlighted that artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly enhance the tourism industry by providing personalized and efficient services to visitors.

Stefan Badza, the Director of the Special Projects Team in the Office of the President of the Republic of Serbia, also expressed support for the application of artificial intelligence in tourism. He emphasized that AI can improve travelers' experiences, making it easier for them to plan their trips, customize their needs, and find the best offers. The government is ready to support AI implementation projects in this sector.

The Director of the Center for Digital Transformation Predrag Nikolic pointed out that concrete applications of artificial intelligence in tourism are already visible. These include computer vision for recognizing tourist attractions, large language models to enhance communication with foreign tourists, and generative AI for creating personalized tourism offers.

During the conference, attendees had the opportunity to hear lectures and presentations from experts in the field of artificial intelligence and to see domestic AI solutions in practice. What was particularly interesting is that some of these solutions were available for on-site testing, allowing participants to better understand the practical application of AI technologies in tourism.
